The news say UMW is going to bring in the hybrid vios version to malaysia in year 2025, but due to some reason, they delay it to 2026. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « CARPLUS.MY» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Toyota is gearing up to launch the 2025 Toyota Vios Hybrid in Thailand this coming August 2025, setting the stage for a fuel-efficient contender in the B-segment sedan segment — and possibly a direct rival to the Honda City e:HEV. The Vios that we are familiar with here is sold as the Yaris Ativ in Thailand.
Spyshots of the purported Vios Hybrid surfaced as early as September 2023, but went radio silence in the following months.
According to a recent report by AutolifeThailand, the upcoming 2025 Toyota Vios Hybrid will likely be powered by the same hybrid system as the Toyota Yaris Cross, which consists of: 1.5-litre 2NR-VEX Atkinson-cycle petrol engine Output: 91 PS and 121 Nm Electric motor: 80 PS and 141 Nm Battery: 0.7-kWh lithium-ion Combined output: 111 PS Fuel economy (Yaris Cross benchmark): Up to 26.3 km/L (test cycle unspecified) Expected features of the 2025 Toyota Vios Hybrid Aside from the hybrid powertrain, the Vios Hybrid is expected to carry over most features from the top-spec petrol Vios, including:
Automatic LED headlights with Follow Me Home Electric Parking Brake (EPB) Automatic climate control with rear air vents Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS suite Likely to include Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Will the 2025 Toyota Vios Hybrid come to Malaysia? At the time of writing, UMW Toyota Motor has yet to confirm whether the Vios Hybrid will be introduced in Malaysia. If launched locally, it could be the first non-national hybrid sedan in its segment since the debut of the Honda City e:HEV, which is currently priced from RM 111,900.
Given the growing focus on electrification and fuel efficiency, the Vios Hybrid could fit well into Malaysia’s B-segment market — especially if priced competitively below RM 120k. sos kicap thaiHow is hybrid car, and toyota hybrid nowdays? i saw some are cursing honda hybrid This post has been edited by Zhik: Jun 10 2025, 10:13 AM

QUOTE(Zaryl @ Jun 10 2025, 08:00 PM) no problem on my end so far. clocked in 95,000km *touchwood* but this 2nd gen honda hybrid i-dcd does have one issue though: the DCT dry gearbox failure, although the failure rate is very minimum. root cause: frequent creeping during heavy traffic jem causing clutch pack to slip, akin to MT another cause: DCT actuator oil never replace every 10,000km or 20,000km, depend on usage <-- this is not explicitly mentioned in Honda malaysia manual though. to drive this car need advanced knowledge, especially to understand DCT driving characteristics & hybrid battery system functions. best if you can join malaysia honda city i-dcd hybrid FB group to learn & share knowledge together. I have come across the actuator issue before. This condition is so common in overseas . And usually easily diagnosed via the engine sound. and this does broke the gb? Still enjoying my old 1st gen gm6. ayam still havent found any reason to change car yet. LOL. This post has been edited by Zhik: Jun 10 2025, 08:44 PM
