I remember 10-15 years ago, if you have a Camry/Accord, you are already at a seemingly senior position, mostly for people who have achieved above average success in the corporate world and mostly are in their mid 40's.
These days, it seems that having a Camry/Accord doesn't seem prestigious anymore, despite the price of these cars are now even more expensive than an entry BMW/Mercedes. Camry is now RM240k which is quite crazy to think that it used to be the "Top up a bit to get entry BMW/Merc" but now being more expensive than a RM220k BMW 2 series.
Even though the cars are now even more expensive than before, a lot of youngster in their 30's be driving entry BMW/Merc or Tesla. They don't even bat an eye on Toyota/Honda anymore. Instead Toyota/Honda seems to be cars for fresh grads up to late 20's.
Man, Malaysians are indeed becoming wealthier. Driving next level cars.
Is Camry/Accord still high class?
