3 in 5 S’poreans live paycheck to paycheck: report
MSN

More than a quarter also work multiple jobs.

Three in five workers in Singapore, or 60%, lived paycheck to paycheck in 2024, surpassing the APAC average of 48%, according to ADP’s People at Work 2025 report.

More than a quarter, or 26%, held multiple jobs to cover basic expenses, manage additional costs, or save for retirement. Some also cited the need to gain work experience or fund education and training as reasons for taking on extra work.

Others reported working multiple jobs to support dependents or due to a lack of available full-time employment, the report said.

“Nearly two-thirds of people who hold three jobs still struggle to make ends meet. This presents an opportunity for employers to take a more holistic approach to compensation to help workers navigate the higher living costs of today’s global economy,” Richardson Nela, chief economist at ADP, said.

ADP surveyed 38,000 workers across 34 markets worldwide.

At least SG people try to come out of poverty. I know some Malaysians love living in poverty. I think they are far beyond paycheck to paycheck at this point.

This is just your prespective. It is more profitable to lock you for 24 months to the same bank and telco operator albeit to sell the phone at slight discounted price,

All survey are random and pick respondent until achieve minimum sample size that’ll give 95% confidence I.e, 5% margin of error.

This is global survey some more. Any hanky panky will tarnish ADP image

yes, so is it accurate need to see how huge is the size, how they take there survey, where they take the survey, when they take the survey, etc
if the survey company dont understand the culture, the result will be very biased

just give you an example,

a global survey company took a survey from 35k ppl at Masjid Jamek, the finance district of msia during 1st day of Hari Raya
The result show that, 90% of the ppl work as low-cost labour in construction and factory
