Which govt got such mandate to sell the country? That is way beyond the power most elected govt has under normal Constitution. Hence the sales is illegitimate and won’t be recognised by international community.

You can sell land to any country but if citizen vote for new government, they can always take back the land. Even though doing so will show the country got zero credibility in the future (eg. Zimbabwe)

Let’s say they sold to US. It will be one of the US states. They will be bound by US law. How to change government and take back the land? They can change the governor. Can they just grab the land in Zimbabwe? I don’t think so.

Not impossible but It will take a revolution to take back the land.
Without justification (they already sold the country), it’s hard to get support. Need law expert to answer that.
