It's fun and economical if you're fooling around with your gf (for obvious reasons) around town.

Personally I loved the look for Daihatsu' DN Compagno concept. Spiffy!

Not sure why Perodua never thought of rebadging kei car size minivans like these? Price it at 50 - 60k+ and I believe it will have its appeal with the sliding doors

Agreed. Just rebadged this Move, call it perodua gerak. I will buy one for city use only.

Number of vehicles P2 sold in April 2025

1. Perodua Bezza – 7527 units
2. Perodua Axia – 6615 units
3. Perodua Myvi – 5567 units
5. Perodua Alza – 3606 units
6. Perodua Ativa – 2751 units
14. Perodua Aruz – 1305 units

With QV-E, D66B (Bseg SUV), D01D (new Myvi) coming
their production capacity is maxed out. Hence any proposed new models need to generate monthly sales > 2-3K units.

Kei cars with 660cc engines won't have the mass appeal to double up as city and balik kampong roles and if priced at myvi level, possibly too low volume for a precious production line.

As I understand it, if Perodua does bring in the new Move/Kenari model, it definitely won’t be using a 660cc engine.

Just like the previous Kenari β€” in Japan it came with a 660cc turbocharged engine, but when launched in Malaysia, Perodua opted for the 1.0L NA engine due to its better torque (Nm) and practicality.

So, it’s reasonable to assume that this new model might reuse the current Axia engine, or perhaps even consider the 1.0L turbocharged engine from the Ativa β€” just a possibility.

But, Malaysians don't like sliding doors.

Remember Toyota Sienta, Honda Freed etc....they did not fare well in Malaysian market due to sliding doors. Maybe the motorized doors costed too much ?

Actually Honda Freed did sell well during those days...
Hanya the Toyota Sienta not as popular as Honda Freed maybe due to the leg room spacious...

Yup, Kenari 1.0NA was sold alongside Kelisa also (mostly) 1.0NA hence if new Move comes in may co-exist with Axia.

But Axia is selling well today, not sure any business justification to bring in the Move just to cannibalise its own models.

Putting in the 1KR-VET 1.0T with almost 100hp on the other hand might be excessive for that Kei car footprint and with higher pricing.

By the way, love to have them sliding rear doors. Definitely a plus for me.

Yes, it looks like kanari.
Kenari is no longer for sale, right?

I feel like Kenari is not safe to drive when have a collision

This kind of car when making a cornering stable or not?

P2 stopped making Kenari in 2009.

Cars in 2000 period cannot be compared to current models when talking about safety. It has it pros and cons when comes to handling as well.

If you want to be really safe driving with a D licence, get a truck.
