Todei i curi use my brother's Dior Sauvage EDP and fuuhh the hhnngghh smell last for so long and much more hhnngghh when i sweat. Got complimented by 2 of my passengers when i drive Grab this evening.

I never got people complimented my smell before when i use my usual perfumes bought from Watsons and supermarket punya brands. The only time ive got complimented was this afternoon and that time when i use my dad's Tom Ford tobacco.

Better? I think not necessarily. Perfume is about the smell. Smell last longer than the other has nothing to do with price because high price maybe just due to brand name. Perfume can be alcohol or oil based. The one based on oil will have smell that last longer than the alcohol based. This is from what I leaned.

Perfumes can be categorized based on their concentration of fragrance oils, which affects their scent strength and longevity. Here are the main types:

### 1. **Parfum (Extrait de Parfum)**
- **Concentration:** 20-30% fragrance oils
- **Longevity:** 6-8 hours or more
- **Characteristics:** Rich and intense scent; a little goes a long way.

### 2. **Eau de Parfum (EDP)**
- **Concentration:** 15-20% fragrance oils
- **Longevity:** 4-8 hours
- **Characteristics:** Stronger than Eau de Toilette; suitable for evening wear.

### 3. **Eau de Toilette (EDT)**
- **Concentration:** 5-15% fragrance oils
- **Longevity:** 3-5 hours
- **Characteristics:** Lighter and more subtle; often used for daytime wear.

### 4. **Eau de Cologne (EDC)**
- **Concentration:** 2-5% fragrance oils
- **Longevity:** 2-4 hours
- **Characteristics:** Fresh and citrusy; often used for a quick refresh.

### 5. **Eau Fraiche**
- **Concentration:** 1-3% fragrance oils
- **Longevity:** 1-3 hours
- **Characteristics:** Very light; mostly water and alcohol; ideal for hot weather.

### Additional Categories
- **Floral, Woody, Oriental, Fresh:** These refer to the scent families rather than the concentration. Each family has its own characteristics and notes.
- **Unisex:** Some perfumes are designed to be worn by any gender, blending notes appealing to both.

### Conclusion
Choosing a perfume type often depends on personal preference, occasion, and the desired intensity of fragrance.

Esprit de parfum (ESdP): 15–30% aromatic compounds, a seldom-used strength concentration between EdP and parfum

Woody, spicy smell tend to last the longest regardless of all weather

Fresh citrusy smell will evaporate the fastest.

Smoky, leathery smell will change depending on temperature. Tend to stink in warmer environment.

Gourmand smells the best in cooler temperatures, definitely will feel icky in malaysian outdoor climate.

Floral smell depends la. White floral is the strongest and last the longest. (Jasmine, tuberose). They tend to be in a lot of base smells.

Want beast mode longevity, go for arab perfumes. They tend to have a lot of rich woody smell, many varieties to choose from, and for far cheaper prices.

And in malaysia climate u can pretty much ignore the top notes. Focus more on base notes and middle notes.

Expensive doesn’t always mean last the longest. For example, tom ford neroli portofino and lv imagination, lasts like a fart if compared to mid ranges like lattafa. But the former are mostly citrus, and the latter has a lot of woody bases. So yea. Do ur research first, dont get duped into believing brand name = always good

Not all the branded ones will last. It still depends on other factors

Don't believe the edp edt shit too it's just marketing

Above average perfume should last 8 hours on you, an acceptable one is 5 hours. Anything below not worth

care to share the brand? i usually go for branded dupe like harumme, larome, amad maison, szindore, lattafa etc but they usually cost around rm80-100 per bottle. interested to know what dupe below rm50 is good. do they smell the same or just an inspiration version? zara produces good dupes too imho but too bad they have increased their price alot over the past few years.
