What and how do you watch stuff on TV?

I've been renting and living without TV for so long now, last watch during astro and antenna tv era before MYTV is a thing
so my knowledge on TV is very2 outdated liao

usually I just torrent stuff and watch on PC

Soon I will have my own space soon and already impulse boughted xiaomi tv on lazada sale today, now dunno how to use
How do I watch my downloaded stuff from my PC on the tv? casting or copy into usb like a caveman?
pc will be far away from tv so not gonna use hdmi

Any gooding TV box that can watch hollywood and ccp content?
is Netflix and disneyplus really necessary?

Connect a PC to the TV.

I'm using an old Dell Optiplex 3060 to torrent and watch TV series and movies on the large 50 inch TV in a 200 sqft room. Good enough.

So good that I bought another micro PC for cheap as a backup.

Use TV as large monitor with built in speaker 😆

Connect mini PC or laptop with Win, share a folder and map that folder in main PC so I can tx files to/fro easily.

internet say use Plex and create a server using PC
anyone tried this before?


need to invest in a HTPC then , no budget for that

I use old Lenovo latitude dulu. Now just miracast from tablet/laptop on my bedroom 50” samseng.

can u pause your movie using tv remote?

just activate the pairing for the first time from phone / computer to android TV .. then start casting whatever video saved from computer or streaming

you no mention what TV you have, if very old tv how got wireless display

never tested 4k and above .. 1080p enuf for me, moreover i rarely watch TV

the Bluetooth just for device pairing verification, casting will route via network
