do you understand how software works? you think the software is run elsewhere? its in the car lol
*
nope. sometimes bugs are not found immediately. given how the neta engineers were likely not paid in time, you can imagine how bad the quality of their code could be. in all likelihood, the software would have some safety features that check against the timezone to issue a new certificate so that the software can run without issues

try rewinding or fast forward your phone or your computer's time and see if you can still browse the internet.

this is not the point, the company bust so in future wont get updates anymore but the car would still function as the software itself is in the car

just dont get anymore updates or anything but the exisiting software in the car would still work

but this is a basic ev, the software wont get much updates anyway

if very cheap can buy..drive it trash it no need wash or care drive until battery kaput then recycle..can get many years off the car but its farking ugly one of the ugliest car i have ever seen lol

This reminds me of the tinkering you need to do when you are building your own windows pc yourself and troubleshooting.

If you are buying it with those kind of risk, i assume you are curious if you could hack the car to be used for as long as you could hack it to work.

Or maybe you could take all the EV out and put a turbo engine inside it.

Wonder how hard /easy it is to hack the car software. In before underneath it’s just embedded Linux

buy and drive for one month before all software goes offline, ok? if software is buggy then cannot even detect key then become a giant brick on 4 wheels ok?
*
wonder will all this trigger the modding society ? flashing own Rom onto the car and make it work better.

Article says the price is almost rm 42k after vat and NO warranty. That’s a pretty high risk to stomach for a 40k toy especially when you know it’s an orphan product with no dealer support.

Test drive Neta V a few months back. For an ev it drives better than an axia or even myvi. but the infotainment ui is shitty as heck. kalau beli buat kereta basahan bolehlah, RM30k can sapu one for kampung use i guess

No way you are going to brute the codes. Neither can you extract the roms. They are smart enough to heavily protect this. The best hope is finding part numbers and board designs that matches some other manufacturers. They may be platform sharing or bought ready made modules that you could use. Its just a matter of EVENTUALITY. If there was too much an interest in a product, things will be made to save them.
