Hi all,

I am a Malaysian and will go to China (guangzhou) later this year for a work related travel. I most likely will be travelling on Airasia. The GPU should be around RM3k to RM4k

Can I buy a GPU in China and bring it back (in my carry on luggage) to Malaysia?

need see luck, if not caught you can get off scot free without paying anything

if caught, you will be charged customs tax. last time i shipped GPU over from US, i kena 8% tax. current rate should be higher ed

I know someone selling computer stuff in China and buying from them is much cheaper than in Malaysia (around 400-500 I think)

it really depends, but most likely you won’t have any issues if it’s packed inside your luggage and you’re not bringing too many. i once brought back 3 new hdds in their original packaging from japan without any problems.

Gift also useless. I have seen them taxing mcd children toys. Anything over RM500, you'll need a lot of luck.
