whats your itinerary, location, purpose etc

i probably wouldnt lug a 70-200 even if f4 for travel unless im doing nature stuff
24-70 f2.8/4 would be my main glass, maybe 2 primes (1 ultrawide, 1 40-55). gives additional flexibility
24 would be sufficient for group photos but if you wanna take landscape photos something wider is warranted especially if you dont plan on going back anytime soon

True photographer shoots 35mm prime in full frame body.
You can bring 50mm for portrait shots or 24mm for landscape if you want.
But for travel, 35mm is what a human eyes normally see.

Some of the photos I took with these lenses.

i would pack light then. an ILC body + fixed lens compact like the GR. 24-70 + maybe a prime like 35/50. bitches love 35mm shot in europe
wont bother with wide unless landscape is one of the reasons youre going there. backpacking in my 20s and lugging glasses + tripod was awful, but im not a very fit person and I didnt have much money back then for carbon fiber stuffs.

11-16 ultra wide 2.8
35 1.8 or faster prime 50 1.4 also ok.

Assuming you are using a crop sensor.

Won't bother with a general purpose zoom. Just use leg zoom.

If 35 is too up close and personal for you, I will lug along a 135 fast prime.

i get what youre trying to say and agree its a good solution
its just that i dont bother with pixel peeping much anymore due to additional commitment, and i mostly shoot SOOC nowadays. having 2 bodies is very convenient IMO, i would borrow my friends GR3 from time to time and that does the job really well for medium wide. when traveling with others, i find that switching lenses is just such a hassle

if newbie, avoid using less than 35mm lens. start with 50mm. you'll get distorted angle

if pro, no need ask advice here

addon: if going with family, take the 20mm as well for family shot

Travel for photography, 1 bag of gears (few lenses) is OK.
Travel for business or leisure, 1 extra flagship phone better.

I'm a canon guy so my lens references will be with canon lenses. I'm sure Nikon or the aftermarket has equivalents.

If on full frame. I would just use wide angle zoom and fast primes. 16-35 2.8, 50 1.4 as the main go through.

The 85/100mm f1.8 Tele primes are good and cheap as well as the already aforementioned 135f2 if you want to utilize zoom compression on your portraits and shallow dof and fast enough to shoot with lower light conditions.

Anything else is just too much glass to carry around...or too expensive glass to risk travel. Works for most street photography and landscapes.

i used to lug around m4/3 > Sony APSC > Fuji APSC..

Now i'm just carrying my 1 inch sensor smartphone only.. the likes of Vivo has been splendid even for close to no light photography.. can still capture something pretty darn good.

20mm is better imho but 24mm is sufficient. Not a fan of zooms due to extra weight. 200mm shd be sufficient and bright enough. But some wud lug the 70-300mm, depends on self.

But but but I always bring the 70-200 f2.8 if the plan is to bring the whole bag of cameras

Edit:
I usually plan the shots for the location, I've usually got an idea what kinda pictures to get in said location. The lenses reflect that.

Eg I saw the samyang 14 in your list, I'm sure that's for super wide astro

u going to do post-shot editing? ie: Lightroom etc?
if not, get a nice phone that covers wide angle and some zoom.

I tell you. as a seasoned Pentax DSLR system user. u will regret carrying around DSLR + lenses during you holiday trip... unless the objective of your trip is only for photography....

Better travel light. Just 35mm prime lens or 50mm prime lens. Use your leg to zoom.

Also Europe plenty of pickpockets and thief. Keep your valuable close.

Good memories are made with the eyes, not the camera.
