Can I backup my old iphone onto icloud even though i did not purchase any additional storage?

Machines trade-in dont allow for on-the-spot transfer between phones, and they need the old phone on the spot

just subscribe icloud for monthly to backup first or use laptop. anyway, normally icloud and transfer back once u connect

Hi, just purchased a 17 via Shopee with trade-in. Reading the trade in steps, it seems that the service doesnt allow on the spot data transfer. Wondering anyone else has any experience on this?
Seems like I have to back up my 13 first. My concerns would be :-

1. Backing up icloud/itunes - would it actually backs up all the data (photos especially), ive read that itunes works and apple do provide an unlimited icloud for the new phone transfer with a grace period of 21 days, just wondering about the data backs up reliability
2. My banking apps - seems like I just have to deregister and restart the whole process which includes some cooling off period
3. E-sim - using celcomdigi - i guess have to go to their cube to request an esim
I would deeply appreciate any tips on this in anticipation on the 17 arrival, thank you

Finally got my hands-on on the Iphone Air.
Not really having the 'wow' factor as I would imagine. It's thin yes but as I am already using the Fold 7, once unfolded, the Fold is thinner than the Air LOL.
And size wise, it's just barely bigger than the regular base 17 model.
Overall sacrificing the battery and the camera, no wonder the reception for this model is abit subpar. Just my opinion.

I know it's not the official store. It is however, Shopee's Flagship store of which I assume is just another authorised retailer . I am trying my luck here because the official Apple store (Apple.com) quoted mine for recycle since it is all banged up as per criteria given. I've been using mine naked since I bought it. Surprisingly, with the amount of abuse I did to my phone, only the back glass is cracked, the screen itself only scratches, body also banged up. Else, it works as intended even with a 77% battery life. Safe to say, upgrade is due.
I see, I was only aware of remobie through shopee but I'll see how it goes on later

no stock in market. doubt price will go lower as now the preorder has dragged to middle oct

Initially I didn’t like the colors. But watching more videos Sage seems to grow on me.

Every year this will always be the dilemma.. either trade in with high value or wait till big vouchers but phone almost outdated by that time. If upgrade every year, there’s no difference which route to take, either faster or slower but overall cost is the same

Anyways , 16 pro max to 17 although tempting will still be downgrade overall. Actually iPhones camera without lidar got difference even if Apple doesn’t tell. Especially low light and moving subjects. Also overall photo size will be bigger based on experience upgrading sidegrading downgrading in never ending iPhone cycles
