OKU can have free parking?

No. The Majlis Bandaraya officer who gave me the OKU car park sticker told me that with the sticker, I was entitled to free parking in all Majlis Bandaraya car park lots in Setia Alam or Shah Alam. But must pay when going into shopping mall car parks lah.

This time the officer didn't bother to check my car for the sticker and just issued the summons. But I went to the Majlis Bandaraya office and they got it cancelled for me.

This type of officer only ends up giving his other colleagues more work and more trouble. But I also feel that the Majlis Bandaraya officer who issued the sticker could have given me two stickers, one for the front windscreen of the car and one for the back windscreen of the car lah. That should make it easier for the summons officers.

Parents carrying babies should be called family parking lah.

But I think at this moment in time, government not really sure how to help this category of people.

So who is the OKU here driving the car. You should apply one for your own use.

I'm not an OKU driver.

But I have to fetch my mom who's mostly wheelchair bound these days. She is the OKU passenger lah.

I thought OKU sticker is for OKU driver? Not passenger.

I think JPJ issues the OKU sticker for the OKU drivers. But the Majlis Bandaraya officers issue the stickers for OKU passengers??

There are two types of stickers. And there exists motorists who would use fake stickers for their own convenience or benefit. See this report

I believe that this area of the law is not publicized enough and so I think I can understand and forgive certain people who might be angry with even the legitimate OKU people lah!

I saw that the indoor car park for ICity has OKU car park lots which come together with the message "This car park lot is meant for OKU drivers only. If you park here, you might be made to pay RM100 if we clamp your wheels."

I wonder if government has laws on the shopping malls for this type of private rule and regulation?? Because I see their OKU car park lots are ALWAYS ALWAYS empty and mind you, they have MANY of such car park lots there! I also don't park there since I am NOT OKU driver lah!!
