If he wins those games, it’s why the club dreams about. They might not have to worry about long term appointments and might give Carrick a one to two year extension. Save a lot of money.

Sir Alex never played tiki taka football.
It’s direct football at pace, with wingers pushing wide. SAF did try to incorporate a more possession based game for European matches, see the transfer of Veron from Lazio who was supposed to be the center piece, but the experiment didn’t work.
If I were to capture what SAF was about, it was never about tactics or formations. It is Relentless Winning. Even down to the last minute, we always had hope we were gonna score.
So I would say SAF was more about mentality than tactical.
He’s a legendary man manager, not a tactical genius.
