We also need to be careful what managers we want.
Alonso has his style of play. If we want a manager to implement Wilcox’s tactical philosophy and take instructions, then I’d say go for a younger manager instead of a big name one.

Sometimes I don’t know what United want.

All recruitment plans put on hold until the new manager is onboard.

I think should just let SAF come out of retirement and manage till end of season.
Or since this season already gone case, might as well put Gary Neville and that Carragher to manage. So that we can see how bad they are as managers and that in future, they will stfu when it comes to commenting about United on TV and social media.

united DNA?

looking at the current players, no chance. even carrick also cannot fix this issue. the problem is at the top. wilcox and berrada cannot be trusted. INEOS ruined this from the start. supposedly qatar about to buy, but INEOS came with a plan to keep the glazers there. this is the problem.

this issue can be avoided if the club has a proper sporting director. in the past, sir alex did that role, with david gill as ceo. sir alex have total control over player profile. today, the sporting director role is as important as the manager. and i dont think wilcox is that man.

amorim now available for city already. if pep decided to go, city already queue him. something that city have in mind when they hire viana.

case study:

1. real madrid player power
- identify star player and hire manager that can build the team around them

2. barca way
- identify style of play and implement it from kids, to academy, and bring it to first team

3. ajax way
- home grown young players no matter whats the result will be until success

4. united DNA
- sir alex way play for the badge no matter how shit u are, good vibe ex players worshiper, moments FC favoritism neportism shit

5. chelsea short term way
- buy key players according to manager no matter how much the cost

6. overhauling arab money city way top down approach total revamp
- hire top position, plan, execute it, find manager that can fit the plan and keep buying players, more control and stability

7. arsenal always 2nd way
- stick to 1 manager and expect miracle

you choose which one, or add more.
no.6 is the best approach in modern football.
amorim want to be no.5, the board want to be no.6 but fail because they sack their own sporting director. therefore we got nothing.

Looking at the Amorim situation, it’s no longer manager who decides the system.

Director of football decides the system.
Manager is the head coach who implements the system.
Players recruited need to fit the system.

That’s my current understanding of how things are at United. Wilcox got involved with Amorim on the whole back 3 or back 4 system and it blew up.

I think the next manager should be informed about the expectation from the club.

Go ahead to city. I ready to laugh him and see how he will bring down city. Or maybe can my shut mouth make me regret with his A performance. Just like bald fraud I really enjoy laughing at his Leverkusen days to prove he is a fraud after all.

Looks like Carrick is appointed. Hope he will outshine Ole. Generally an ex midfielder can manage better than other position cause midfielder dictate the play. Just like Xavi, Alonso. Zidane is forward though and so does Rooney.

Let see if player power still exist in the backroom...

P.S. Sancho and Rashford are going to be happy coming back to us... I hope the management is not dumb enough to renew/extend their contract...

Look at Barcelona: their philosophy is to play attractive, attacking football. After so many years, their philosophy has never changed despite having so many different managers.

United changed their football philosophy after the appointment of David Moyes. His style of football was dull and boring, and the team did not score enough goals.

Van Gaal’s style of play was also far too defensive.

I do not think boring, defensive football suits United at all. shakehead.gif
