I have a old laptop.

The spec 15inch 1050 3GB and i7 9750H.
The laptop connector is hdmi and minidp.
The hdmi spec is either hdmi 2,0 or 1.4 only,
The minidp is either dp 1.4 or dp 1.2 only.

I need a 3 meter to 5 meter cable for both types and also a vga cable too but dont know its from hdmi or minidp port.
both connector ports I never use before.

I also need a montior either 25inch or 27inch monitor IPS.
I sit quite close either 2 feet or 3 feed to laptop so monitor range should be around that.

Now the problem not sure 8bit or 10bit color for monitor. Current laptop screen is 120hz 8bit color if I remember correctly. 45%ntsc I think.

I am perfectionist so monitor should be pixel pefect.
I look into illegear monitor so far the one that caught my eye is either apex 25 fhd 240hz ips or apex 27 165hz qhd.
titan army P2510S 240hz qhd.

Monitor port requirement must have dp and hdmi if can have also vga(if possible optional only).
Well someone said he have a very old old old monior but only vga connector not sure working or o not. So that why I need a vga cable too.

The reason looking into illegear and titan army cause they have pixel warranty.

Any suggestions?

The monitor also is preparation if I ever get a new desktop computer.

Get a modern Monitor with HDMI and/or DP

VGA can only do like 1080p60, mostly useless in modern day

just use HDMI or DP, modern, high speed, digital

Dont bother with local no names, stick with large brands like Asus/Acer/ViewSonic/MSI/AOC

go with more common sizes like 24 or 27

if 27 inch then go with QHD (1440p)
otherwise 1080p is fine for 24inch

1. State your budget
2. Never go below 27" for QHD (2560x1440) resolution. 32" is my sweet spot for QHD

Monitor budget about RM1100 or below.
Cable dont know yet Shouldnt exceed RM100 per cable type right?

IPS or fast ips or black ips(doubt black ips possible so expensive)
Flat monitor
FHD resolution for 24 to 25inch and 100hz refresh rate above
QHD resolution for 27inch and 100hz refresh rate above.
Must have dp port and hdmii port(vga port also got woud be nice).
Mainly for playing fps games, fortnite and some steam games just bought alot of steam games during this season discount.
And alot of reading especially tech sites.
I watch youtube but not much now.

Priority now cables and monitor to laptop first.

Later got money I buy a desktop computer.

Monitor price below RM1000 and monitor must be from CGI store in shopee because now got promotion price below RM50 for checking pixel I just saw the service price is RM46 after discount yesterday.

Why no just choose monitor thay have HDMI and DP port
No need worry convertor, that may not stable/not working

I need cables cause I am using a laptop and the laptop screen got display problem hurting my eyes much.

Just found out nvidia dropping 1050 driver geeze sad.

If normal use get any monitor suit your budget, and monitor mostly come with either HDMI or DP cable, no need buy

my setup is dual monitor hdmi + dvi

u can make 3 monitor setup

1st monitor - laptop monitor
2rd monitor - hdmi monitor
3rd monitor - minidp to full size dp > dp monitor or hdmi monitor with dp > hdmi cable

Here not many selling monitors.
Then they said must follow montior warranty rules even if I pay cash.

Now is finding a mini display port to display port cable for 3 meter in shopee.

Why the troublesome of choosing the Ports ?

Just get a USB Type-C Adapter with 2 or 3 HDMI ports.

Something like J5-Create, UGreen, Aten brands. They have very good specifications.

This way, you'll save the headache of choosing which monitor have the correct ports or not, just go everything with HDMI v.2.0 & above.

The laptop usb c only works for power delivery not display port.

No, Almost all Dell lappy, Lenovo etc, support full functions, not just for PD
When buying lappy just check spec, it's not that difficult.

Even android phone since Oneplus 8T support full fledged USB-C, if such small devices can support display port/HDMI up to 4K 60fps
there's no reason laptop cannot, unless it's budget model.
