QUOTE(Patent @ May 25 2025, 08:31 PM) Have you tried the transalps 750? I tried transalps.. Its a pretty tall bike if you are moving from a scooter. If you are not really planning to go offroad maybe can consider something like suzuki vstrom 650 or the new 800re/de or kawa versys 650. If you dont mind cfmoto, maybe 700mt. More similar to the transalp with lower seat but heavier. They all should have the torque that you need and still capable of being a daily bike. Its just nice for me .. (I am 6 foot tall) despite me feeling its small Yes scooter is really really short |

THanks for advise
only reason i choosing transalps is because of the recent advert push from many content creators as well as i am quite used to a 750 (Had a Xadv 750 - sold it since some one offer a crazy price to take it off my hands) plus i am a quite a loyalist to Honda.. Some bikes added to the list 1) Triump Tiger 2) Suzuki 800RE 3) CF Moto 800MTX 4) BMW F900 GS - Top of my to consider list now This post has been edited by selenium: May 27 2025, 08:29 PM |

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ May 28 2025, 08:08 AM) Some of these middle weight ADVs have close to if not more than twice the power of the xadv. If you don't need that power it's kind of a waste. Maybe I should give the nx500 another try I know you said the 500x feels small to you but small has it's benefits in daily use with tried and tested reliability and extremely good fuel economy. The outgoing 500x and newer NX500 brings a lot of upgrades to the 500x lineup with dual front brakes, upgraded suspension and better TFT screen. It's still a relatively simple bike. Other than it being a bit boring, these aren't much vices on the 500 honda. It doesn't seem that you do a lot of big long distance trips so a big overly upsized and powerful adv tourer may be a bit of a waste. And if you are considering dipping your toes into off roading, getting a big ADV is usually a mistake people only realise later. In reality, everyone does better on a smaller and lighter 250/400 on loose terrain than a 250kg big ADV. I like its simplicity with only its size putting me off... Thanks for the advise... will definitely test ride and maybe get one for long distance rides 😀 |

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ May 28 2025, 06:38 PM) The only thing going against the NX/ 500x is the rather pedestrian engine and the price tag. 37k opens up a lot of other bikes, especially Chinese ones. That's my main concern actuallyThem 500 engines are known to go well over 200k with just regular services and run 500kms on a tank. Unless you somehow get racun by 100hp, the NX will do just fine....unless you plan to ride with much bigger, powerful bikes, with quicker riders. I ride a few big bikes and feel that the 750cc 60 ish hp engine is just nice for me(Xadv 750).. but will need to test ride the nx500 to see how it feels just to be certain.... |
