Have you tried the transalps 750?
Its a pretty tall bike if you are moving from a scooter.
If you are not really planning to go offroad maybe can consider something like suzuki vstrom 650 or the new 800re/de or kawa versys 650.
If you dont mind cfmoto, maybe 700mt. More similar to the transalp with lower seat but heavier.
They all should have the torque that you need and still capable of being a daily bike.

I tried transalps..
Its just nice for me .. (I am 6 foot tall) despite me feeling its small

Yes scooter is really really short

How about if your kid able to get on and off the bike?
Maybe can consider that also.

If you are already feeling good on the transalp I think not much can change your mind

Maybe follow ur advise go look at CF moto or mt07

cfmoto also just launched 800 mtx recently. You might want to check that out.
Considering your current option is transalp 750 that is priced around 57k,
some other options you can consider:
-suzuki vstrom 650, you can find this used on older models priced under 20k or a new one at 46k
-vstrom 800, new price 55k close to the transalp you can choose between offroad variant and road focused variant.
-kawasaki versys 650, probably the most boring one out of the others in this recommendation but also a tank in term of reliability (on par with suzuki vstrom 650)
-cfmoto 800 mtx, new model, similar to ktm 790 adv. has low-slung fuel tank making handling easier compared to other adv bikes. 49k with boxes.
-voge ds900x, another china offering. using bmw's f900 gs engine. 48k with boxes.

I honestly believe you'd have no problem to use these bikes as daily because you have size advantage laugh.gif
Of course do try to test them and if possible push them around with full tank to actually gauge your capability on handling them.

if you want naked bike, cfmoto 800nk or the new yamaha mt09.
