Dont do it!!!!Just send it as is back to PNY. 4070 has TDP of 200W, even mine 3060TI at max load will only each to 80+ C and thats on dual fans. If you aren't bothered about voiding the warranty, you can repaste the GPU and swap out the thermal pads for better-quality ones. Thermal Grizzly makes excellent thermal pads and TIM. Moogle Stiltzkin liked this post

Chat with the shop where I bought the gpu from regarding RMA. Shop says PNY side has problem. Will update me when it is ready.
I tried to contact PNY local distributor Fusion Tech Supply and also email the main PNY support (I think from Taiwan). No reply from both. Is this the norm in Malaysia? 7th week of waiting... |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Jun 25 2025, 05:15 PM) Chat with the shop where I bought the gpu from regarding RMA. Shop says PNY side has problem. Will update me when it is ready. 2 months max is quite the norm esp when its not big brand AIB. But I think its a lot delayed due to tariff war issue, so their attention is prolly focus on USA, prioritising their production order and RMAs to get done and ship to US, unfortunately nonUS customers will then get the short shaft.I tried to contact PNY local distributor Fusion Tech Supply and also email the main PNY support (I think from Taiwan). No reply from both. Is this the norm in Malaysia? 7th week of waiting... You will have to be persistent and try every few days followup with the shop and insist whats the status of your RMA process in PNY. You might be surprised that these shops wont immediately send your GPU back to Taiwan but can keep for a week or so then ship out as consignment with others RMA. So 1 week gather at reseller, 1 week gather at distro, 1 week cargo vessel to Taiwan, then so ngam May also got China Golden Week. |

This is exactly why I hate it when brands don’t let us RMA directly with them or their authorized distributors. Before I buy anything, I always check whether the brand allows direct RMA. From my experience, it’s usually the retailers that cause delays—some take forever to process returns. Meanwhile, when dealing directly with the brand or their distributor, I’ve never had an RMA take longer than 3 weeks, and most are much faster. Here are a few examples from my own experience: ASUS – RMA’d a couple of GPUs directly with them. Replacement usually arrives within 1 week; the fastest was just 3 days. PowerColor – Went through their distributor for a GPU RMA. Got a replacement in 5 days. ASRock – RMA’d a motherboard via their distributor. Got a replacement in only 2 days. Zotac & Team Group – RMA’d directly with their distributor. If they had stock, I got a replacement on the spot. There are a few other brands I’ve dealt with too, but I can’t remember all the details. Still, direct RMA has always been far smoother and faster for me. Moogle Stiltzkin, iXora.ix, and 1 other liked this post

QUOTE(babylon52281 @ Jul 6 2025, 11:27 PM) I feel for you. You will have to pester them every couple days asking the status. Also your dealing with the reseller, try to get the RMA ticket number then go pester the distro as well. I did that every 2 weeks. also contacted distributor and the main PNY support (for Asia region). |

There you go, now use that email and chase both distro and reseller when you are getting your replacement card. 1 week is enough for air shipment and custom clearance. Try ask the distro if they can ship direct to you or not.today I sent another email to PNY. got a prompt reply. I'm surprised.
