Telco usually uncap speedtest.net so plan capping not affecting their average speed.

Speedtest.net servers are easily identifiable. Telco can unlock full speed only for these servers.

Fast.com shared their server with main Netflix services. They can't do hanky panky on it without actually crippling netflix experience.

Why they can do this?
Because your menteri tidur makan rasuah thats why.

It's depend on so many factor. All are accurate only the definition is different. The speedtest.net is the fastest speed you can get, if you buy the quota plan than that's the speed you will get.

Just test with all the tools and make sense of the result.

It like you test a car. On day 1 no traffic, day 2 got traffic. Same road, so which one you said is accurate? Day 3 you test on the track. All will produce different speed but all have explanation.

your speed is slow for 4G+. 4G+ should be over 100mbps.

lock 4G band 1 3 7 8 28 u see some band is faster than others
that is what telco own speedtest used for.

plan said 12mbps but maxis capped at 14mbps

mobilespeedtest.net test your connections to denmark

SpeedTest to own ISP is most accurate at least you know the available throughput available. once the traffic leave the ISP they can try to optimize, but not possible to get high speed on everything. the workaround pay premium for better routing or using VPN/Tunnel to bypass most of restriction limit by telco.

if you from dial-up, isdn, DSL era before FTTH (history Malaysia Internet) can skip this
some telco upsell gaming plan for better latency. don't forget telco sometime like to limit single connection speed. if you remember Download Accelerator Plus(DAP) & GetRight it maximized the speed by downloading from multiple source. some occasion they also like to limit streaming port (don't know who come up with this idea) and morning, afternoon, evening, night & mid-night the route and speed change. ip range you connected also effect the speed. after you consume X bandwidth they limit your speed, after 1 hour they again let's you maximize the speed. example staying north(Penang) vs central(KL/PJ) is like everything opposite for gaming, changing port number the speed increase 400% doesn't work for all the app.

most important just test app you using daily, others just leave it the hand of god to decide. got money get VPN/Tunnel, no money chatgpt can help for workaround. btw no telco is perfect

IMO fiber more better than wireless. when come to stability or consistent speed.

you might get high speed using wireless on (JAN), then you tell your neighbor (FEB) you using wireless (high speed) then everyone start jump to wireless, the speed degrade on (MAR) because of too many users but limit bandwidth available. telco won't increase the wireless bandwidth they know the user will jump ship at any time. Too far, no LOS will impact the wireless speed, limited cell tower serving your area will impact the user experience.

it's only a test of speed between their server and you

I like fast.com as a test as it's related to netflix, so they cant speed it up without also speeding up the other

like mobilespeedtest, it is testing against a far away server, so its slower

in your initial post

speedtest.net tests are not speed limited by your ISP, Maxis/Hotlink
but others like fast.com are speed limited

They are accurate, but not comprehensive.

One single speed test doesn't give the full picture of how well a Telco performs. It's just like you can't tell the capability of a football player by assessing only his sprinting speed
