QUOTE(Nihonmaru @ May 21 2025, 04:27 PM) Kelate never succeed yet asking people to do mitigation plan. QUOTE(Redhunt @ May 22 2025, 08:32 AM) current Penang government keeps on adding terms and conditions towards new development. Now it needs to be a 'Green' Building . Who knows what is next. but the worse thing is that the churn of personnel in Penang's civil service and the change of commentary and advice that goes with it, and the bureaucracy in duplicated and repetitious submissions, is severely damaging towards any schedule in actualizing a new development meanwhile, there is barely any development in mass transportation. Which means any new development will have problem in getting the people to actually visit / work there.

QUOTE(Redhunt @ May 22 2025, 08:32 AM) for people criticizing Opposition for raising concerns, well that is their job. And the ruling party should assuage the voters that such concerns are superfluous. You wont be asking DAP to shut up if they become opposition.. --- current Penang government keeps on adding terms and conditions towards new development. So this is precisely what opposition should be debating. instead of everyday they talk kok about RnR and failed mathematics.

QUOTE(takbodoh722 @ May 21 2025, 05:20 PM) Lets see how many pages we can reach without answering the question ie no explain the financial gap. CKY explained today QUOTE As of May 20, Penang recorded RM374.4 million in revenue and RM296.2 million in expenditure, resulting in a surplus of RM78.2 million. Its consolidated fund account currently stands at RM235.5 million.
According to a handout, 67% of the state’s revenue came from non-tax sources like land premiums and investment returns, while taxes contribute 26%.
Despite this year’s surplus, Chow said, Penang ran deficits from 2020 to 2024, with the worst in 2023 when spending reached RM951.7 million against RM592.9 million in revenue.
He attributed the shortfall to increased welfare programmes and grants to agencies.
Chow also noted that Penang recorded the highest reserves in 2019 at RM1.15 billion, which was largely driven by proceeds from the Bayan Mutiara land deal.
Of that, he said, RM621.5 million was actual state revenue after accounting for the Penang Development Corporation’s share. https://www.msn.com/en-my/news/other/chow-v...ves/ar-AA1Fg4kbTLDR: Sudden hike in reserves back in 2019 was because of Bayan Mutiara land deal. Not likely to have that every year kan.
