Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow pointed out that Penang cannot be overly dependent on the semiconductor industry and must seek alternative paths in light of the current “US-China tariff war.”

“We need to undergo another transformation in order to reduce our reliance on the semiconductor industry.”

On Monday (19th), during the oral question session in the Penang State Assembly, Chow said that while Malaysia has a diversified economic system, Penang does not possess many natural resources. Reflecting on its development history, Penang has indeed been overly reliant on industry, with no other viable options.

“However, we can also enhance skills, expand, and optimize local companies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).”

He believes that the halal industry could be another potential path forward. He hopes that it will not remain merely at the memorandum of understanding (MoU) stage, and under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Mohd Abdul Hamid, tangible results can be achieved.

I do not care what my Muslim friends think about the food I am eating, just I do not care about the food that they put into their mouth. They have no right to lecture me about my food preferences, just as I do not have any rights to lecture them on theirs. If my group has Muslim members, we go eat halal food. Otherwise, we do not care about halal this or that. We just eat where or what we like. Life is simpler this way, no?

Not my problem. All I know is if I am hungry and the shop is serving good food, I stop and eat. This applies only in Malaysia and Thailand. The other countries, I will be more careful since hygiene might be an issue. Makes my life simpler. No need think this and that. If anyone wants to spend time questioning about halalness of their food, they are welcome to, as long as it doesn’t not impact me.

People will try to find reason and applied it when it feels fit but sometimes the actual reason is still unknown.

It is clearly stated in Quran that you cannot eat pork and utilize anything that comes out of pig. So, there is no need to question or find reasons the law that has been stated just because you need to heed to it. Even for laws made by human also need to be followed without questioning for logic like you must not overtake on double line even it is clear that road is clear on the opposite site. This argument still cannot win you in court

Human just like to find excuse to justify whatever they like to do.
