Apparently, if you earn RM10k, you already fall into top 10% category in Malaysia.

RM10k ain't too bad for a single person. RM4k can get you a 800sqf luxury apartment in SJ, another RM4k for other expenses should give you quite a nice life if you don't plan to save.

Gov stats is saying RM10k Gross is already T10.

This is whole Malaysia though so it would be much higher if it is just KL.

10k in kl city is just enough to survive.

i know a roadside nasi lemak here
only open at night from 6pm until habis
gross earning RM700-800/day
closes weekend
employs part time helper to cook
sells in front of house, cook in house

you do the math.
that's pretty close to T20 income by rough calculation

Living standard must compare the same with the low earner as well. Its superb very luxury already 1k for room rental, 2k for merz, 500 for petrol, 3k for foods(RM100 each day for food).

Read a dumbie here said 2.3USD only can rent unfurnished room at silicon valley which is dumb.

If you want includes raise childs , staying at bungalow of course not a fair comparison already.

Got Merc drive, got fancy apartment, RM1.5k for other spending and RM3k for food per month, if that ain't comfy living then I'm not sure what is.

This is 10k = single income = T10 = Nationwide, which is quite consistent with their household income data.
