the processing of rare earths to military grades is a big issue for countries other than China. that is big concern to US defense industry .

So is the residual waste dumped in Malaysia?

He is not wrong, part of Malaysia, but still far from Sarawak.

It is more likely they are just establishing dominance, not related to Lynas.

the rare earth ore is brought from australian mine to pahang for refining, the tailings (waste) is left here because australia has a law that radioactive wastes cant be imported back.
