Hi guys. I have engaged with a non-local contractor for my subsale 900sqft house, 3 bedroom 2 toilets(basic unit) in bandar tun razak. The renovation still ongoing currently and around 30% of the work have been done. Just wanna share the prices with works involves:

- at least 22 (13A) sockets throughout the house
- add 2 water heater points (4mm mega cable -I insist and provided) + 4 AC points (including the copper and piping)
- installing 2 ceiling fans + repositioning the rest of 3 fans
- at least 35 downlights~ (I bought all the lights)
- hacking and concealing all sockets/switches/points/cables
- changing and repositioning all switches to 4ft high
- additional wiring and installation for wired bell at entrance
- putting curtain rails in all rooms
Total: RM 15000

Toilets (2 toilets, measuring 8x5 and 7x5ft):

- removing the kitchen window and yard door, and touh-up and tiling the leftover window frame/space
- installing the hob + hood + sink
Total: RM 3500

Installing SPC flooring (4+1mm) for the whole house
- including removing all the parquet in 3 rooms
- leveling the 3 rooms (this is the unexpected additional cost, added extra RM 1000 from the original quotation just for the labor alone)
- removing the tiles skirting and installing the new one (old tiles in the living/dining room not removed)
Total: RM 7500

Painting the whole house including all doors
Total: RM 1500

He give me a FOC wall cabinet at the end of the small hallway (ceiling height, 3ft wide, 1 feet depth)

Total cost: RM 32,000! cry.gif

This is not including the base and top kitchen cabinet and yard windows, which he quoted me total of RM 8000 for those three items, making it RM40,000! for the whole house. I'm thinking of getting other contractor for these jobs instead, and hoping for a cheaper alternatives.

I know its a bit too late but what do you guys think about the pricing, would like to know whether the prices is ok or can be cheaper? Any way you would do differently? Do note its a non-local contractor.
I'm having a slight regret now lol, because with total cost of RM 40,000 i could have engaged a proper ID and save the headaches. My initial budget was only around RM25,000 sweat.gif , thats why I do all the planning by myself in the first place. I still need to furnish the house later (fridges, sofa, washing machine etc)

And I'm still looking for alternative for the kitchen base and top cabinets and yard window as well (6x5ft sizes), do recommend me if you know a good one.
