True. That's what I do (eLASIS portal), but I had to dumb it down for the peasants to understand.

Bro, may I know:
1) whether we can apply to renew lease (house or land) via eLasis on someone's behalf?
2) if I acah2 apply through eLasis just to know how much it costs to renew, and then don't proceed to renew, what the consequence? The application will be cancelled after certain time?

1) yes you can apply to renew lease (house or land) via eLasis on someone's behalf. Do that all the time. Just need to have the documents from the original owner (the main part is the original Title to Land; which is not to be confused with the Extract of Title)

2) The short answer is yes. Land renewal will only happen when the money is paid and L&S update the lease expiry date (which can be checked on eLASIS/Mobile LASIS). If no money is paid, the original lease expiry date remains.

Usually can estimate from the Schedule of Premium rates. For example, a terrace house will be RM1000 for another 60 years. RM1300 for 99 years.

TQ for the explanation. I saw the renewal rates in the webpage link you provided. Just that I was not sure what RM1000 *per unit* refers to. Per point size, or per house or something like that. Now I know it's per house.
