Respect is a two way street, so is employee-employer relationship. Employee doesn't take salary for nothing, from my personal experience, feudalism culture is indeed very strong for companies in Malaysia, especially when it comes to older firms. These certain employers believe that being an employer who hands out salary gives them the right to enslave and be condescending towards employees.
What many firms don't realize is that, while they are assessing candidates, candidates are also assessing them in return.
TS, I fully support your decision, you deserve better, don't cave in to their game of chicken, they pry on the gullible and the desperate candidates.
This remind me of when I was interviewing for an intern position many years ago, that interviewer ridiculed and abused me for lack of experience that I would not be able to otherwise gain unless I am given a chance to work, I hanged up the call immediately and gave them 1 star + report in the job posting board
This is the worst hiring process I've encounter
