Correct you here due to dangerous generalisation. The Constitution gives bumi rights to "Malay" as in the culture religion. A Chinese convert can be a bumi as long as he proves himself to be more Malay than Chinese. Again, nobody bothered to consider this grey area as the Chinese is used to being discriminated, and a Chinese convert is shy of asking for what is within his rights. The Malay on the other hand, is used to privileges (as long as it's more than other races) and hence become more "tolerant" to other races' converts.
