if you are new/junior, then tell boss, so you can gain more experience and grow faster, if after some time still no salary raise, then jump with the experience gained.

client/boss/user will expect you to do another project faster if you report it too early, besides if this is programming, plenty of time to do extra tests, documentation and add fancy features if really want extra credit.

but the boss tiap2 minggu want update. if you split it little by little sure the boss question why that week you can only manage to complete so little stuff.
the boss is so dumb dont ask you the update, just give result months later enough, what if you missing out tons of items?

if cinapek boss and malaysia...never submit early
if it's not thn u can consider other option that most people here would not consider
