I still remember that before 2001 911 event, Malaysia was still a liberal-ish country. I distinctly remember a lot of Malay girls in my school did not wear tudung and let their hair flow....fuh...

Then the 2001 event happend and it seems everyone turned more conservative and hardcore religious...
I was shocked when i went to uni and saw all the girls and boys separated and controlled... (provided there was some racism mixed in as well)

I truly believe that the 2001 911 event and the subsequent wars really shaped the population to be more conservative, restrictive and dare i say radical.
