Malaysia don't have the market la for their high quality ingredient breads.

Their high quality flour/ingredients sourced from from Canada, Australia, Hokkaido and California.

2-3 decades ago when I was a child used to eat Sunshine Bakery bread they come packed in paper wrapped square packaging.

When Malaysian Ringgit started to go down spiral and lost its value they exited Malaysian market to concentrate in SG instead.

Their Shokupan Purple Sweet Potato one is the best seller.

SGD3.90 a loaf. If come to Malaysia cannot appeal to the locals. Sure costs RM12 or more for one 400g loaf.

Fyi, .......

https://www.amazon.sg/Sunshine-Hokkaido-Toa...g/dp/B074K8GM8F - Sunshine Hokkaido Milk Toast Bread, 400g (Packaging may vary)
Ingredients:

Enriched High Protein Wheat Flour, Purified Water, Granulated Cane Sugar, Milk Powder (Full Cream Milk Powder, Hokkaido Whole Milk Powder),Vital Wheat Gluten, Vegetable Shortening (Palm), Baker's Yeast, Vacuum Dried Salt, Dough Conditioner [Plant-based Emulsifiers and Enzymes (Amylase, Hemicellulase, Lipase)], Permitted Flavouring, Calcium Propionate, Calcium (Calcium Sulfate, Calcium Carbonate) Soya Flour, Ascorbic Acid, Iron (Ferric Phosphate), Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Vitamin B1 (Thiamine), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin).

Calcium propionate is a common food additive, particularly in bread, used as a preservative to prevent mold and rope bacteria growth (= a fungicide and bacteriacide), thus extending the shelf life of baked goods.

Some chemical preservatives can be toxic or harmful, especially in certain individuals or when consumed in excessive amounts. While generally considered safe for the majority of the population, some preservatives can cause negative reactions in individuals with sensitivities.

I always see so many different flavours in SG, but when I come back to MY, I barely can find Sunshine and even if I do, probably 2 or 3 flavours only
