12K fine not for the plaintiffs. They can still take this to civil court and sue him gao gao.

In UK there was this case in which a woman was burned but survived. Guy got jail time of course. But much much later she died and the guy got charged again for murder and sentenced for longer.

dont think its double jeopardy.

DPP can re-charge to involuntary manslaughter if the victim dies later.
