Starting with the internal specs, the Xperia 1 VII is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, has 12GB RAM, and an internal storage capacity of 256GB UFS with the option of expanding it by up to 2TB via microSDXC. For power, the phone is fitted with a 5,000mAh battery and supports USB PD fast-charging.

Like its predecessor, the 1 VII has ditched the 21:9 form factor and now sports a 19.5:9 6.5-inch FHD+ (1080, 2340) HDR BRAVIA OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.

As for the main camera, the 1 VII uses a triple-camera setup comprising a 48MP 1/1.56″ wide, a 12MP telephoto with a focal length of up to 170mm, and a 48MP ultrawide lens. The selfie camera retains the same 12MP sensor as before.

The Sony Xperia 1 VII is slated for a mid-July release, and will be available in three colours for the Malaysian market: Slate Black, Moss Green, and Orchid Purple. At the time of writing, Sony Malaysia did not provide local pricing for the phone.

You onboarded the wrong time. That's the issue with Snapdragon 810.
The camera issue was from their stupid extra processing on top of the JPG. They worked with Qualcomm since the reboot of Xperia 1 and it has been good. It is now the proper one with RAW.

Nah, they give update at least 2 years. I have been using theirs from the very early Xperia Ray.
My 5V is still getting updates every month or two after 1 year.

Consider the OS as AOSP with several hardcode Sony apps on top that only satisfies power user. Other than that, it is close to no fancy customization unlike before the reboot time. Minimalists/focus group will like it though.

The price... yeah is cut throat. Only worth when they are bundling with WF/WH headphones or during heavy sales.

Already decent these days. They got Alpha team to step in since the reboot and the camera UI/control/functionality is identical to the latest Alpha+FX line. The crazy continuous tracking AF, 30FPS, eye AF, creative look, lowlight stacking, 4K 120, S-Cinetone, auto framing are all included. They also got exclusive access for a year on the latest camera sensor from semiconductor department.

The image output is pretty much identical to my Alpha / RX in terms of color science.

And making money according to past financial report. Guess their profit margin is high as apple.

Once have the Sony Xperia Z, the best android phone i ever owned. Served me for 5 years until i moved to iPhone, waterproof features really lansi back then. Sound is so perfect, video also, camera for recording and taking pictures all so great then.

Jepunis also don't buy Xperia now....

I don't know you use Xperia before or not.
I use before, they have all the best technology but the tech they put in the phone is just sheat.

I feel like they have some internal issue of working cross department.

But no doubt, their phone build quality is great.

I just couldn't understand who's their target market nowadays.

It's been proven last time that their pictures qualities and software are not good compared to Samsung and other brands. I still remembered they are famous due to their heating issue.

The reason why there's a lot of Samsung loyal fans due to their One UI.

Same goes to Apple. Many still buy Iphone due to IOS.

So what Sony can offer nowadays? Their flagship phone I saw price RM6299. Same price as S25 Ultra.

The design just looks ugly and nothing outstanding on it
