the biggest problem i have with household income is that one person earning X amount is VERY different with two people each earning half that.
Unless of course if both are earning say 50k.
But for say /k's salary of 20k, it makes a huge difference if one is earning 20k vs husband and wife earning 10k each.

QUOTE(crador @ May 13 2025, 11:55 AM)
Pays a lot more tax if single person making 20k lor.
Let's say RM 10k per month, roughly taxable income = 70k => 3,700 income tax. Two persons = RM 7,400
RM20k per month, taxable income = 140k (actual will be higher, less reliefs compared to two) = RM 19,400.

More than double.
For example only ya.

You mean the single income one have it tougher? Tax on someone earning 20k vs two 10k is also very different.

Yes. A family with a single income have it tougher because their take home pay is way different.
But government always lump 1x 20k and 2x 10k together, basically penalizing single income families
