Hi, i wanna buy an automatic wheelchair for my mum. So many choices yet i havent decide which one i should go for. I seeking advice from those who have experience here. My mum condition:

- age 80+
- weight about 70-80 kg
- heigh 160cm ++
- can still walk but her knee hurt when she walk a lot. Undergo gel injection currently

My preferences for the chair

- budget below 2k
- have local warranty and easy to get sparepart if broken (preferable KV area)
- good after sales service
- from shopee or physica shop both i accept

In addition, i also dont know what to expect or what to know before and after buying the chair. I totally have 0 experience in this. Therefore u guys can advise me on this as well.

Thx in advance!

80+ at 80kg.

Wow that's even heavier than me.

I think better put her on more lighter diet on doctor's advice.

that will help put less burden on her knees.

You've got a big house? Auto wheelchair need to remove a lot of obstacles on the floor.
single or double storey house?

Hmmm i can consider but after scan its confirm that the liquid at my mum knee cap has depleted. Hense the knee joint has been touching between the joins which result to pain. Doc said can only take the gel injection to fix it. But i will take into consideration after study it. Thx!
The chair only for outside like going to the hospital. She still can walk and stand up. But not for long like 2-3 hours. Cant walk long distance too. In house, she will not using the chair.

Yeah she diet but hard coz other complication she having plus she already old so her metabolism already low. At a point she cant eat few weeks (due to the sickness she had) still barely lost weight.

She just need the chair so that she wont burden anyone to push it when she go outside.
I look at a shop online selling chairs display the weight of the chair. First i dont really get it why small skinny chair much more expensive than the one which look sturdy. when u mention it, now i get it why it is more expensive. A point to seriously take note. My dad still in good health but carry in and out 20kg chair will be troublesome for him and i dont wanna burden him as well. But the price about 5k. Shopee got cheaper but not sure if they offer good after sales service.
