BUKAN saya yang memandu!

Demikian kata Balan Radhakrishnan, pemilik trak pikap Nissan Navara yang tular ekoran insiden langgar lari di Lebuhraya NKVE menghala ke Tol Jalan Duta.

Ketika dihubungi mStar pada Ahad, Balan, 39, berkata trap pikap yang dibeli pada tahun 2018 itu dipandu oleh saudaranya ketika kemalangan berlaku.

Balan membeli trap pikap itu pada tahun 2018.

"Lepas dia kemalangan, dia terus balik. Saya pula ada di Shah Alam. Dia datang dan ceritakan kepada saya. Saya tanya, kenapa tak berhenti? Dia takut nak turun, bimbang kena pukul.

"Kemudian saya terus ajak pergi buat laporan polis. Kami pergi ke balai polis dan dia ditahan. Selepas itu, baru saya tengok telefon dan perasan ramai orang hubungi saya.

"Rupa-rupanya gambar saya dan alamat rumah sudah tersebar. Saya risau keselamatan ibu bapa saya," ujarnya.

Menurut Balan, dia menggelarkan saudaranya itu sebagai 'adik' kerana hubungan mereka yang akrab.

Dalam pada itu, Balan turut membuat satu laporan polis di Balai Klang Selatan selepas maklumat peribadinya tersebar secara meluas di media sosial.

Tambah Balan, dia turut melihat video tentang dirinya dimuat naik ke laman Instagram penyanyi rap Caprice.

Enggan namanya terus dikaitkan, Balan memohon orang ramai agar  tidak menyebarkan maklumat yang salah kerana kes tersebut sedang disiasat pihak berkuasa.

"Saya nak minta semua bertenang, biar polis yang siasat. Kes pun dalam siasatan polis. Saya nak minta agar berhenti sebar tentang saya.

"Saya memang akan beri kerjasama kepada polis, sebab tu saya yang bawa dia (pemandu) ke balai. Dia tak ada kerja, jadi dia buat kerja jual-jual barang.

Kes langgar lar melibatkan Nissan Navara itu menjadi bualan hangat di media sosial.

"Ini juga bukan kali pertama dia pinjam kenderaan saya. Dia selalu pinjam kalau nak hantar barang," jelasnya lagi.

Antara lain, Balan turut memberi penjelasan tentang pelekat (sticker) Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) yang ditampal pada trak pikap miliknya itu.

"Sticker itu saya dapat daripada kawan. Dulu dia ada event, tapi dia tak tampal pada kereta dia. Dia bagi kepada saya.

"Saya tiada niat lain. Saya cuma tampal sebab ia tertulis PDRM 4x4. Kita pun biasa buat bantuan banjir, sebab tu ada sticker ," jelasnya lagi.

Terdahulu, media melaporkan sepasang suami isteri cedera selepas motosikal dinaiki mereka dilanggar oleh sebuah trak pikap pada Sabtu.

Suspek yang berusia 32 tahun direman dua hari dan kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 42(1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987 kerana memandu secara melulu dan berbahaya.

KUALA LUMPUR: The driver of a Nissan Navara involved in a collision with a motorcycle near the Duta Toll Plaza is expected to be charged tomorrow.

He faces a charge of reckless and dangerous driving under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The offence carries a jail term of up to five years, a fine of RM5,000 to RM15,000, and a minimum five-year driving ban.

Police obtained a one-day extension of the driver's remand to facilitate further investigation.

City Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said they will be referring the investigation paper to the deputy public prosecutor tomorrow morning.

"We will refer the investigation paper (IP) to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) at around 8.30am, and once we receive instructions to charge the driver, we will proceed accordingly," he said when contacted.

Zamzuri also urged anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.

It was reported that a motorcyclist and his wife were injured after being thrown off their motorcycle when a pickup truck struck them on the North-South Expressway, an incident that has since gone viral on social media.

The incident was captured in a video and uploaded by the Facebook page DashCam Malaysia.

The driver of the Nissan Navara, a 32-year-old man, was unhurt in the incident and has since lodged a police report.

A remand order was obtained, and the suspect is currently being held at the Dang Wangi lock-up for two days to assist investigations.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Muhammad Farhad Kamaruddin, at 011-31903054.
