this what i wan, 2 x 120mm at the hdd bay to blow at my graphic card and mobo
user posted image

the hdd will go here
user posted image

front view, notice the hdd bay blocking the fan by a little
user posted image

it will need to go, 2 rivets on the top and 2 at the bottom will be remove by drilling
user posted image

and the front too will be cut for more airflow
user posted image

so the cutting begins... doh.gif with a rm1X metal cutter i cut away the unneeded parts whistling.gif
user posted image
it cuts like a butter thumbup.gif
user posted image

while im at it, i will made some holes at the back for my cable management..hahaha
user posted image
sharp edges should be fold in, but its late and i was lazy doh.gif
user posted image

the above mod took me 30minutes only...i wanted a rotary tools but i dun have budget for a decent 1 for now, so i go along with my idea using a cheap metal cutter, worksmanship could b better but for me as long as it work i got no complain, and i wan it to be a fast 1...hahaha, wont do no harm anyway.

with tht done, heres comes the installation

1st in the power supply with some management on the wiring

then the fan, messy cabling here, they are not long enof, will get some extention for the power cable, but is there any longer sata cable?
user posted image
the 2 x 120mm fans are press down nicely by the cdrom, a tiny double sided tape in the middle to hold the fan togather
user posted image

the Hdd, i drill some holes for the cable tie, forgotten to take pic for it
why cable ties? the screw hole doesnt fit and i dun have longer screws in hand for the hdd
user posted image

everything in
accept my GC, btw no fans at the back, everything taken off for the hot air to go out
user posted image

the back is abit too messy, mayb will clean it up if i feels like it whistling.gif

the hdd
is connected to the carriage
and theres 2 fan drawing air through it
so the hdd would be properly well aerated
so the temp wouldn't be a problem

haha...im not sitting on it, its a tsunami anyway, not solid like enlight and the others. dun really feel the difference in solidness anyway, the strength comes mostly from the 'pilar' rite?

the shape is very very bad, totally ugly, i got a jigsaw but not with me, im staying outside now.

the hdd is propery put in, it will not move at all unless its forcefully pull out.

30minutes worklor....hahaha, im no expert, if i would do it with a rotary or jigsaw (it doesnt really feels save to do it on this case cos the metal is really thin), it would took me an hour.

I wouldn't do that cutting if I were you... made all the metal bent/dent here and there. Even my tiny little saw does better and I bet it's 100% cheaper than ur mighty cutter. shakehead.gif

Btw, how did you mount the two fans at the front? Only double sided tapes? doh.gif At least try to find somewhere where you can secure it properly.
Maybe you can still place the hdd back into the hdd rack. Push it a little bit forward. If you say that those hdd will block air flow, it seriously wont affect much. Better than crossing cables dangerous hanging hdds.

I should wish you good luck in your mod.

i tried saw, its too slow tongue.gif, dent at the cut area onlylor

the 2 fans? only double sided tape in the middle for the 2 fans to hold togather. hahaha. fans are pressed down by the cdrom. for me they are tight enof, wont fall even if i move the case aorund, not properly done i know...

no way the hdd can fit at the bay if i wana put the fans there, ya mayb i can push the fan in a little more, but it will create turbulence due to no clearance between hdd with the fans and hence noise, which is why i move it from the front to the mid of the case.
hmmm i use cable ties to hold my bumper....only 4 of them, travel at 160km/h from serdang to klang on my bumpy arbsober didnt make them loose in anyway tongue.gif, cut it away and the bumper will fall off, easy for me to do mods to my car...hahahahaha

btw this kind of case is make of zink? or what meterial it use, for sure its not metal

its nice to see coments from ppl here...luckily those sifu didnt come and shoot me 9 9, for them, see also eyes pain.....
hahahaha, flame my mod also nvrmind biggrin.gif

the last case i mod took me whole day + few days wait for laser cutting on the acrylic and its sold offlor, but thts was 3-4 years back when i got nothing better to do and full of passion for case mod,, hehe

actually tis is very cool if u know how to be creative.. once u use the cutter, u must know it will make the plate bend... so to make sure its prety, u must do the "kelim" ke dalam.. n give ketuk sket.. then HHD bay, maybe u can throw away, but cutting the rivet.. then u can attach fan properly at the infront LUBANG BESAR.. haha

just my suggestion.. coz love to play with cutter

Hmm...like u said, gets the work done...
You could do better when you have proper tools...It's not easy cutting using the metal cutter sweat.gif
Bro, bout the front 2 120mm fans, how practical are they? Do they move air from outside into the case or does it only make air circulate in the case?
U might need to look into it if not this whole mod will be deemed useless...
Anyway, i like ur creativity in getting the work done especially forn the HDD.notworthy.gif

the fans work pretty good, if i put a piece of paper at the inlet it will stick there due to the sucking power of the 2 120mm fans icon_rolleyes.gif

hehe, very ugly worksmanship but it didnt really damage anything usefull, and its covered...hehehe, thx for the compliment on the creative side notworthy.gif

As in "100% sure" cheaper.

TS, if you want something special, and you have some spare HDD which no one wants, can probably experiment by cutting a window on the HDD. Then ppl will notice the HDD more than the cable ties.
