QUOTE(andrewhtf @ May 5 2025, 10:22 PM) In the olden days up to 80s, when rubber estate and tin mining is still in operation, such scene is common in estate or kongsi housings. Cina who speaks some Tamil, or Indians who speaks some Chinese local dialects like Hokkien or canto... Some Cina family who can't afford to raise kids gave away their infant daughters to Indian families, some Indian kids who lives and grow up along with their Cina friends etc... with the loss of such industry, estate and kongsi vanished, and so does the interracial interactions. True

QUOTE(pgsiemkia @ May 5 2025, 10:32 PM) Unless you are type oren, intergration with all races is beneficial plus learning the language. We had muhibbah during our time, (I’m not a boomer so dun assume), we gen X had the time of our life playing together, eating at each other’s house without worrying abt halal when our mothers know what not to give our malay frens. During festivals, we all go visiting compare to now when oren staff ask “halal, tak” b4 accepting invite. Gone are the days
