With National Record Store Day around the corner, vinyl records are making a comeback for music lovers of all ages.

New data shows vinyl record sales have reached levels that haven't been seen since the 1980s.

casette is only good to listen if you have one of those hifi cassette decks that can output higher quality sound. I had one last time, forgot which brand already iinm it was sansui, the sound quality is night and day vs normal casette players.

Very similar to this one

Ppl in those day no internet would hog the casette players listening to their favourite songs. Have to adjust n roll back the reels frequently. Can even copy the contents from tape to tapes as backups or disteibute to frens

But they love those business modal, they earn more profit, more customers, and more control over their products.

Also, it is easy to throttle the sale of their favorite artists or do the opposite.

Half of them probably will not have children, they get pampered so much as children that they don't have the capacity to be providers as an adult.

Because they barely can cover their own standard of living and don't feel the need to sacrifice their own comfort to raise children.

Unless their rich parents can help sponsor.

Still don't like the lower volume of cassette which make listening experience numb.. but every format exist is to fix or improve issue face by previous format

For now vinyl, cassette and CD more like novelty items

Subscription is nonsense. 😂
Is like u own it while u don't if the $$$ stop.
But then now the ppl want it fast, easy.
Maybe different mindset kua.
But it also means u need to have more $$$ to maintain lifestyle.

True.

Vinyl no hissing at any volume.

Only crackles and pops especially if the record or pickup is dirty.

My The Sound of Music from the 60s sounded so much warmer and lively when compared to the BD or CD version. But at last, need to claim the record and pickup every now and then.

If you're not a vynil person actually can download true vynil recordings online usually in the form of ".wav" or ".flac" format if I recall correctly .They are very big in size about 40MB to 100MB per song.

Not too sure if you still can find them but many years ago they were quite easy to find. The difference is very noticeable compared to the normal MP3 standards of the day.

There's a powerful emotion at the back, that's why these things still around. Think Disney and Star Wars, so many new remakes, think DC and Marvel, not too sure what you name it but there's definitely some comfort in reliving the past.

Things like this only being appreciated in Western countries.

Asian countries never appreciate arts or entertainent.

You see how many shop that sells cd, vinyl nowadays? The only mainstream shop that I see that still sell CD is Popular bookstore.

People like us are too obsessed with everything that is FAST AND EASY. In the end, they own NOTHING and they proud with it.

Keep subscribing to low quality contents on netflix or subscribe music streaming platforms where u can't own the music and the musician can pull out their service anytime they want.

ahhhhh the femes ongoing debate.... biggrin.gif
analogue vs digital
vinyl does have it's strengths.....
esp if the rest of the accompanying equipment (coil pickup, signal transfer, phono amplification, speakers) all play their part as well

but my (physical) collection all now in boxes
camping with spiders inside storeroom
cos when it comes to obtaining new music
nothing beats the simplicity and clarity of digital media playback
