Jantan job is to fertilize the egg before the egg is being laid by hen, if the egg is under the right temperature, it will hatch within 21 days.

If no jantan around, betina will still lay egg regardless, but no chicken baby will be born inside even under the right temperature, no sperm to fertilize it.

The eggs you usually eat have no rooster DNA in it, 100% female genes.

My hometown got many egg farm. Sometimes, they sell out of date chicken like 3 chicken for rm10. These chicken are very special. They can lay many many eggs in 1 day. At the back of our house my father build a chicken coop so they can lay eggs. Remember, these are old chicken but still can lay eggs.
