Can recommend which ac to buy for 1.5 inverter??
I feel my ac taking too much electricity, current ac1.5 non inverter , 3 hours usage a day taking 6-7 kWh per day. If change to inverter how much would I save??? This post has been edited by RiriRuruRara: May 3 2025, 03:10 PM |

3 star 2hp AC usually use around 1.6 kilowatts for full blast whether inverter or not. So just calculate it by multiplying the electrical tariff per kWh to the 1.6

QUOTE(RiriRuruRara @ May 3 2025, 03:10 PM) Can recommend which ac to buy for 1.5 inverter?? The thing about inverter saving electricity is only if your room has good insulation that it won't run at max 100% cooling capacity, like if it runs at 60-70% power. If your room's insulation isn't good or you undersize your AC, the AC will run at max power so the difference vs non-inverter AC will be slight. Inverter AC is still better though, since you can't get more than 3 star non-inverter AC (panasonic 1.5hp uses 1070 watts) while inverter AC is rated up to 5 stars here (panasonic 5 star 1.5hp uses 950 watts while having 500btu/h more or 4% more cooling power).I feel my ac taking too much electricity, current ac1.5 non inverter , 3 hours usage a day taking 6-7 kWh per day. If change to inverter how much would I save??? Are you using 2 non-inverter AC? Mine I currently use daikin 5 star inverter 2.5hp, turns on 6-10 hours a day at hottest noon time, usually runs me 8 - 12kWh a day depending on weather, sunny it uses more, rain it uses less. My ac is capped at 70% cooling capacity because the lowest fan speed is pretty strong already. RiriRuruRara liked this post

Best savings: Panasonic (must get 5 star model) 4 star model from any maker, cut cost, not much savings RiriRuruRara liked this post

I need to upgrade from 1.5->2hp aircond because it's not cold during hot weather...
Any idea how much more I have to pay for electricity usage? |

It should be using 1.1 to 1.2 kW max so in 3 hours it's like 3-3.5kWh. Maybe something else drains your electricityQUOTE(thankyou @ May 3 2025, 07:23 PM) I need to upgrade from 1.5->2hp aircond because it's not cold during hot weather... hp is not that good for indicating aircond performance actually, need to look at btu/h and power consumption. For example, 2.5hp cooling performance is actually double of 1.5hp lel.Any idea how much more I have to pay for electricity usage? 1.5hp to 2hp is around 50% more cooling and also 50% more power consumption. But is your aircond not cold even when new last time? Sounds like undersized AC, should try some of those daikin or panasonic malaysia website's heat load calculator. RiriRuruRara liked this post

Dumb dumb gov no give incentive for insulation. Instead they opted for electricity subsidy.
That’s why you guys complain about expensive AC electricity bill. This post has been edited by Cyberbullies: May 3 2025, 07:44 PM |

My house use 3 AC (one 1.5hp and two 1hp). Hefty monthly bills. First inverter AC comes out, changed all 3. Now had been running 9pm to 6am on daily basis. My electric bills rarely exceed RM380. pisces88 liked this post
