Jajaja, one of the best paella places in BCN in the late 2010’s (ya, I know you don’t eat that in BCN one lah) had a Bangla chef. 11 years ago, when MH370 happened, he ran after us as we were leaving the restaurant to offer us his condolences, saying he worked in MYS before. I was like, wth.
BCN is notorious for its safety but honestly, we’ve been in and out more than 10 times and had not encountered any untoward incidents. Maybe we look too poor
A local friend of us told us this - if you don’t get you on the streets, they’ll get you in the airport, be careful!
We haven’t been back since covid. Our happy place now is in the North.
as the locals say,
que puta calor
I did a road trip for 3 weeks in Southern Spain.
And eat paella most of the time.
Other than that, it is either the Wok thing or burger and fries at local restaurants.
The best one was where my host cook us a firewood paella in a village/national park near Valencia.
And I ate too many road side/truck stop paella as well.
Oh, one moment, I kinda need a stop for a drink after hours of driving so I went to a village near the highway
It is like a local pueblo pub, some elders drinking tea and playing chess.
Shit feels like in the movie.
And I also bought weed from a big random guy in Granada near the gothic/old quarter.
He came to me saying in Spanish but I quickly catches on what he meant.
EL Marie? Bueno? No fumar?
