Recession is coming soon, more and more Malaysians are getting retrenched. Why can’t government provide unemployment benefits like other developed nations? European countries can even provide up to 87% of their previous working income!

See the rates of taxation (income, sales, property etc) in those countries. The money to support the jobless has got to come from somewhere. CallOfLegend, twosocks, and 2 others liked this post

Malaysia give so much benefit to B40 that a jobless benefit is already unnecessary.

QUOTE(knwong @ May 2 2025, 07:59 AM) Recession is coming soon, more and more Malaysians are getting retrenched. Why can’t government provide unemployment benefits like other developed nations? European countries can even provide up to 87% of their previous working income! Because it is the most stupid thing that the west does.![]() ![]() It makes their people lazy and unproductive. " Survival of the fittest " applies to any organism regardless of whether you're a single cell creature or a human. It is unfair for people who work hard having to feed parasites and freeloaders |
