I remember a widow who has a daughter and a son, a womb cancer survivor as well, in the 90s told me that she once went to Samy Vellu for help.
His annoyed reply "என்னடா! நான் எத்தனை பேருக்கு உதவி செய்யணும்?!"
She was shocked and left quietly. Worked in a factory from the 70s and also doing sewing to supplement her income, retrenched in 1999. Both her kids went to university with her efforts.
Lost contact but I wish her well and hopefully the kids remember their mother's struggles to give them a good education and repay her love.
I admire them. Single moms rock the world, but one wrong move — and suddenly you’re her full-time handyman, part-time babysitter, and 24/7 ATM machine… with no PIN reset option.
