Suddenly tertiary education industry becomes irrelevant overnight. Ppl just need to learn how to input chatgpt prompt, and everyone else becomes no value. Just wait till Ai becomes sentient and start to have survivability instinct, human will vanish

Article says 5 high school leavers (SPM level) with sufficient ChatGPT skill perform the job of 20 traditional uni grads..

Will people attend universities to get degrees after this?

Maybe not all jobs but lots of industries will be affected.

With AI today, it's no longer as easy to earn like before anymore.

That's how they suppress salaries now for the fresh grads.

If a degree holder can't learn how to use AI tools better than some randos, you deserved being unemployed.

Make that 2 experienced degree holders that are skilled in Chat GPT vs 5 SPM leavers skilled in Chat GPT vs 20 traditional degree holders

Which solution has the best cost savings?

To make this more clear.

40 Years ago when the world's combined population was probably lesser than today and not as many educated people who completed tertiary education from paper mills as much as today, they were 4X more as employable and in demand as today.

Is the education system WRECKED?

not easy? i though can one man show do everything with AI? can even one person setup who scam call "fleet" .. how not easy??

unemployment is high, but u are implying that young graduate these days still want to be "employed". with AI and various platform we have now, they can create their own stuff with minimal resources and earn living. just like when computer, and the internet, and then social media came along, it killed a lot of boomers rice bowl, but young ppl just starting, they will eventually navigate through the future.
