It's good. Jrpg was staple back then, golden age and peaked during ps2. Almost completely absent during ps3. Ps4 got few classic revivals, surprise move from yakuza to be jrpg henceforth. Ps5 is making jrpg great again.

Not ff16 though.

hopefully konami and capcom can wake up now cause remastered / remake if done right is da shit.

can't stop playing it, problem is I want to wait a month for my 27" 1440p monitor back from warranty to truly enjoy the eye candies. I have to make do with cheap 24" monitor now

Got hooked with the story even though I suck at the parry/dodge mechanic, probably my goty for an indie title. Haven't finished it yet at 54 hours because a lot of side content to explore.

yeah, in act 3 now, I started playing the medium difficulty, but ended up going to story mode too, some enemies really have short window to react and attack a gazilion time in one turn, really kenot tahan for me if not story mode

lol I just met Chromatic Rammaseur optional boss in act 2 visage. This boss really bullies people until we are able to parry. Turns out the cue for parrying is the sound, and I wasn't able to do it much before because I was using bluetooth earphones and the audio delay messes it up. It's easier when using wired headphones

Very satisfying if you managed to parry all and big damage counter afterwards

Finished the game, highly recommended, if not I missed some of the achievement I’ll definitely platinum this.

Maelle is OP even after nerf, can 1 shot every boss, even the toughest, actually 2 shots coz different stage lol

GOTY. On NG+3 playthrough. Very fun and great story.

in act 3 don't explore and power up too much, go straight to the final boss objective. I powered up too much and ended up 1 shoting every monster in the final boss area, and the boss itself. Sigh potong steam

I haven't played NG+ yet, why go through more than one NG+ may I ask? I heard someone in reddit went until +9.

Upgrade pictos. Trying up other non OP weapons for other builds.

still trying to git gud, kept failing to parry some bosses, my brain just can't memorize some of the attack patterns or just milliseconds late to press the parry. and still experimenting with pictos/luminaires, all these while just equip with whatever high lvl pictos available for each character lel

Those that complained about turn based confirm never play this game before. It’s not your typical turn based games because you constantly need to parry the opponent otherwise they going to 1 hit KO u.

i had 90 hours ++ in the game. Really gooding, reminisce of my 90s . If you love final fantasy 7-10 you gonna love this game. Similar concept but translated to 2025 in-game technology and graphic.

I tried the game, but as someone who started playing JRPGs back during FFI, I cannot stand any real turn-based game anymore. It's taking too much time.
i am too old for all this waiting and take turns kinda thing, especially on the grinding part.

i am glad that everyone seems to love this game, but just not for me. FFVII Rebirth was my take on JRPG moving forward. i need it to be fast and furious. Many FF fans got turned off since FFXII came out, but to date, FFXII is high on my list. The gambit is just my kinda thing.

In short, i cannot endure any turn-based game anymore. even for nostalgic value. It's just not for me anymore.

dunno if it will work for you, but I just put the difficulty to story mode only .

its way bearable that way

besides that, no need for grinding (until late / postgame) , no random encounters, and the turn based system is actually engaging (need to dodge/parry)

this game was awesome. one of the few that i've plat. i love the return to turn based RPG because i want to control all my characters which you cant really do well in the new action RPG genre.

my 2sen. there is no need to really grind. just go through the game and fight whatever nevrons you find in each of the story locations and play till the end (unless you really are bad at parry/dodge). You can return and do all the other side quests after the final boss.

i got OP at Act III and i believe that ruined the battles and final boss fight. i think around level 60-70 would be good place to be to finish the game on normal mode.

It seems they added max hp multiplier before boss fights now, so if you find you're too op just increase the multiplier

the only turn based game that done right to me is Civilization game, highly addictive, but it is not a rpg game though, have you tried this game?

Downloaded jack sparrow version just to see what the hype is about. After install and launched the first screen, omaigod, the audio was so captivating and brought me back to the amazing games of the 1990s . It was already very late at night so I did not start the game and went to sleep. Will go start playing today after work.

I can tell you that after just listening to the music, I already feel like buying the game. If the game ends up being something I like, would definitely buy it for full price coz it has been so long since I felt like this and I haven't even started playing the game.

act III is where everything opens . now finally can grind ,

suggest u go complete frozen hearts gain some levels, n the final story boss.

other side boss way too tough for now , but if grind for side boss, then you will one shot the final story boss haha coz the level don't scale

yeah. from level 60+ now already level 77. million XP in 1 fight.
i think i will just go for final fight. already go a few island jalan2 cari boss.

you also should get the latest version of the game because Story mode is easier now with larger parry window, also Stendhal is nerfed, this skill really spoiled the game once you start abusing it as it was bugged.
