from a basket of apples, there's bound to be a few bad ones. cannot be helped for something so mass produced. what's important is what Geely/Proton is going to do about it.
even BMWs have lemon cars but their company is swift in dealing with the fallout.

based on tentative price of 90k for Myvi size EV without battery. is DOA.
actually, i'm not looking forward to a pure EV P2 car - am more interested in a hybrid. like the ones in the HRV. i find that those are more mature and more practical.

There is no future for P2 if they want to develop their own EV, they simply r not competent lah. Better merge with a strong EV brand like BYD.
BYD is one of the oligarchs in China, they benefit nothing from a merger with P2 which means P2 has to give in ALOT if they want to see a successful merger and given the ego/pride that our government has, 0 chance that this will happen.
then again, our "national car" manufacturers are no longer "national", it's basically rebadging and changing bodykits. both P1/P2 now become kedai abang already, in a nutshell.

Your research not up to date.
Already Japanese car makers have collaboration with China Car manufacturer.
Example
Nissan with Dongfeng Motor Group Co.
Toyota collaborates with several Chinese companies, primarily in joint ventures for manufacturing and developing electric vehicles. These collaborations include partnerships with FAW, GAC, and Tencent.
Toyota also works with DiDi, China's mobility service leader, to develop next-generation BEVs and intelligent transportation systems.
what you said is irrelevant as you are talking about a brand new merger with no previous ties, i'm talking about an existing contractual relationship - perhaps even a breach of contract if P2 decided to do a "side-hustle" with other manufacturers.
i am aware that the Japanese has collaborations with the Chinese for sometime already (Changgan-Mazda), i just don't feel the need to bring it out because why? it is irrelevant.
