Kids have grown up and to have safety net over volatile job market, my friend just shared he's mulling at the idea of holding 2 full time jobs. He's currently at last stage interview with a UK based startup for a full time remote job and instead of resigning from his current job at a consumer tech company - he's thinking of setting up one-man company for the startup to receive his salary from abroad. It's up to him whether he wants to pay himself EPF and income tax. Sounds legal?

Kinda common actually. Company had a legal advisor that works based on contract and she has her own company as well.

Nothing unusual about that. Some smart chaps (in various sectors of IT) outsource work to others at very advantageous rates; makes it much easier to hold down 2 full-time jobs.
