@starghazzer: I think what the TS means is that it's a little disgusting how ALL threads center around fashion etc. I don't think she's trying to say that discussions on such topics shouldn't be held at all. A little variety is nice indeed. After all, fashion actually DOES have its own subforum just like games and audio etc... well yeah they conveniently put it under GC anyway though. However, TS, it's true that everything else is mostly covered by other subtopics also. I mean, personally if I were to want to talk about games, I'd actually go to Gamers' Hideout right? Still, kudos for bringing it up. Kinda refreshing to read about something besides bras and private parts. P.S: I've not read Dave Barry, and have no idea what a sugar-glider is, but I like actual wasabi.

Yeah I've heard that one. It's quite true, too, I think... I don't think guys even notice that manicure that some girls pay rm100+ for! I recall that on the 83649827364389643th date that my bf and I had, he suddenly exclaimed 'Hey, since when was your hair so long?!' Errr whoops. Back to the spirit of the thread... so what's a sugar-glider?

Eh guys don't hijack the thread liow wei lol. Pm me if you all wanna reminisce about old dragonraja times. On the other hand, I suppose it's kinda good in a way. After all, this is the only gaming-related discussion in girls' club besides the gamer boyfriend rant I think. =X

I have to totally agree with you guys. Once in a while, I find myself wishing that I had more common interests with other girls. In fact, my only close female friends now are childhood friends, whom I met in primary and the early years of secondary school. College girls... there seem to be only two types. The conservative type who studies 24/7 and I can only seem to have polite conversation with them (oh hey, the nasi lemak stall here is real good!) and won't hang out much cuz they have to study. And the gossipy, flirty, fashiony type, whom I have nothing whatsoever to say to! And the entire spectrum in between. But as my biggest hobby is gaming, I find myself being able to connect much easier with guys. I actually would rather that it is not the case. Besides the social stigma that's associated with a girl hanging out with only guys, regardless of how innocuous the intent, I've come to realize that a girl can only be so close with guys. Even if you're close to the extent that you can share anything and everything without worrying that the guy secretly likes you or something... you still cannot have slumber parties, or bunk in his room when you come back from outstation, or help each other pick out clothes for that prom, or join that LAN party at midnight. I only wish more girls were like those who've responded here. Unfortunately, we seem to be the 'abnormal' ones.

My goal in life is to enjoy every moment of each day. Yes, not much of a goal, I know, but career advancement and such really is overrated. Quite sad to see people I know making it their main priority in life... whatever floats their boat, though.

Well, I for one have booked myself into a course for a job that I'm okay with, but pays decently and is stable. However, if I HAD to choose between the two, I'd choose the job that I'm passionate for, definitely. As long as it does put food on the table lar... passion is, after all, easily extinguished with an empty stomach. This post has been edited by misao: Dec 16 2007, 02:11 AM

Wah sudden influx of EXTREMELY shallow topics in GC (cough the big breast one cough). I'm beginning to wonder if it's just Malaysians or young guys in general...
Sad.
What's Sanctuary in the curve? Shop? Restaurant? Club? >_>

I can't help but open them just because there's this thing about stupidity that both annoys and amuses me. It's like, you know, Mr. Bean is irritating as hell but people still watch to laugh at his idiocy. Lol. My avatar is a very chibified version of Ed from FMA. I think. I just found it off one of those general anime avatar sites. Yeah Penang food rawks, went there last month myself! Had awesome char kuay teow, lok lok, mee sotong, ikan bakar, ABC, hokkien mee, etc etc... but two of my friends came down with diarrhoea.

Guys Think You're Hard to Get You're the furthest thing from easy. You're proper, reserved, and maybe even a little shy. While you don't need a mini skirt and high heels to attract Mr. Right, being a little more flirty couldn't hurt. A sexy top or little smile may encourage new guys to approach you - and you'll still come off as a nice girl. Nah mine different lor. Say, did anyone actually okay the 'kissing on the first date' thing? o_O

QUOTE(fujkenasai @ Mar 3 2008, 06:58 PM) Youngsters these days especially boys do not give much thought to stuff and events that are happening around them, they just do what they want without thinking about the consequences. I wonder if its our education systems, society, parents, media, games, or all together. Look at the activities that kids these age groups are involved in, dota, mmorpgs, fps. How many of them play chess, sports or read a book. Maybe lives these days are too artificial every thing on screen, even movies that have more thoughts involved are not that popular. >_< Youngsters these days? How old are you ah... And why can one not do both? I play DotA and mmorpgs. Pretty often, in fact. But I also probably read about 10x more books than the average Malaysian (2 a year wtf?). I used to play tourney Scrabble when I was 15. Qualified for YouthQuake membership (turned it down cause I couldn't go for the required camp). Sports... too bad lah that one. >_> Just saying, don't discriminate against those who do play video games, it really isn't as 'unhealthy' an activity as you think. No, no, I didn't take offense, really. Was just putting forth my opinion to liven up the discussion further. My nickname is based on an anime character, but I'm not really active in the comic fiesta stuff. I do know a lot of people who are and attended quite a few, though. Hilarious stuff, especially their performances. xD
