I'm gonna be honest and say that I'm kinda sick of the pattern of threads in Girls' Club. It's all about improving our appearance, how-to-please-your-man-more talks, and sex talks, which is OF COURSE infected by guys, which beats the whole purpose of Girls Club in the first place.

I know I'm gonna be receiving lots of bashing for this, but I don't really care; I'm sure there's lots of girls out there who feels the same way as me. Why can't we talk about more serious stuff? Do our lives center around guys that much? Are we helpless without them? No, of course not. I'm not starting on equality and gender issues here but GIRLS, have some dignity!

Why are we talking about private parts and sex before marriage with guys we don't even know in a public forum? Seriously?

So, to start things of, I'd like to talk about a neutral topic. Pick a topic which doesnt center on guys OR sex. Any topic.

I'm a gamer, I love Dave Barry (the author), stand-up comedies, Peter Pan, and my pet sugar glider, Wasabi.

See, that wasn't too hard. Your turn. Sharing is caring.

Yeah I get what you mean... it's really weird seeing people posting about private issues with strangers on a public forum, but then again everybody's anonymous hence there are less inhibitions.

Come to think about it, serious talk have their own respective forums. For example, games are discussed in the game thread, while there's always the hobbies and collectibles thread for sharing one's passion.

Girl's club... well, it's pretty much for girly talk anyway... like makeup and fashion and such.

Cheers.

Apologies if anyone feels offended, but I didn't mean it in a degradatory way.

Fashion and makeup may seem superficial to some people, but in reality it's still pretty much a heavy weight industry. In fact, I don't think discussing about fashion and makeup is degradatory to anyone, especially females. Talking about where to buy the most beautiful skirt or how to apply eyeshadow is like how guys talk about football or where to get electronic gadgets. Nothing to be ashamed of.

If you read my post again, my point is to state that some of the more serious issues are already been discussed in their own respective forums and there's no need to limit those discussions in the girl's thread. If anything, it'll be welcome for the girl's thread to have some serious discussions about whatever matters that might seem meaningful to girls, not just makeup or fashion.

Then again, if there are female members want to ask about makeup and fashion, why deem those discussions as degradatory?

Peace in, peace out. And hopefully this thread doesn't turn into an extreme feminist/male bashing/ thread. Female rights should be upheld, gender equality respected, but not to the extent of bashing and flaming the other sex.
