I think France lose on purpose. They didn't put out Alex Lanier as Men Singles represent.

They put Arnauld Merkle who is technically a unknown but veteran France player.

Jun Hao wouldn't win Lanier.

Group stages usually have alot of plannings.

He likes long rallies, like Misbun. He shd lighten up a little. His face looks so sad even when he wins.

I believe they feel that they have to reserve their best for Japan. They expect us to lose to Japan, so in the end, both team are 1-1 win-lose.

Our MD, XD and WD have equal chances to win Japan, but our MS and WS will lose to Japan. (3-2 win either way for both countries)

Japan MD, Hoki and Kobayashi have better H2H against our Aaron/Soh.......but our Din Fei have slight edge over the Japan pair having beating them in recent Asia Championship but that time Japan pair just back from long layoff due to injury

so MD points depends on whether the Jpn pair fully regain their form.... XD if put CTJ/TEW, should have advantage

but WD i think hard coz Shida/Matsuyama have good lead against our Soya Cincau pair

MS if field Naraoka vs LJH, Japan have slight advantage only coz recently Naraoka form seems no good....but LJH game very boring, and dragging

so expect a battle of fitness for both....

WS, forgone conclusion....no fight

You shd know how tough it is get citizenship for non Muslims spouses in Malaysia….there are so many stories of many professionals whose spouse are Malaysians who are on employment permits…..some of these are specialists in the field like medical etc…anyway, I doubt Aya wants to play anymore after her marriage. She has quit competitive badminton already, I heard.
